| Learning Outcomes Workshops |
The Voluntary System of Accountability (VSA) is conducting summer workshops in 2009 and 2010
to assist participating institutions with the Learning Outcomes section of the College Portrait.
In 2009, the workshop focus was effective administration practices. Nearly 200 university leaders from 120 institutions representing 44 states
learned new strategies and shared effective practices for administering the learning outcomes tests. A summary report
will be available to all VSA institutions and the higher education community in early 2010.
In 2010, the workshop focus will be the application of results for institutional
improvement. The workshops are funded through a grant from the Lumina Foundation.
If you are a VSA participant – whether you’re coming to a workshop or not – please complete a new survey on the administration
and use of student learning outcomes tests at the link below. The survey is a follow-up to the 2009 version and will help us
better plan both the workshops and future programming for the VSA.
Learning Outcomes Survey
As an incentive, we are offering 40-50 travel grants on a first-come, first served basis that will cover one night’s lodging
at any workshop. To apply, check the box at the end of the survey.
